We are continuing to offer complimentary local delivery within Nova Scotia in the Halifax, South Shore and Annapolis Valley areas (orders of 3 bottles + minimum). Local delivery orders can be placed through our online shop.
Upcoming Fall Hours (Oct. 13th-Dec. 24th):
11 AM-5 PM Monday-Friday
10 AM-5 PM Saturday & Sunday
Please note that we have moved to an appointment based tasting model and strongly recommend pre-booking your tasting experience online or by phone at 902-542-7774. The Signature and Estate Tastings take place on our outdoor Tasting Terrace, currently open daily with tasting time slots available between 11 AM and 5:30 PM. Your private tasting will be guided by one of our knowledgeable tasting hosts, while overlooking the vineyard and picturesque Minas Basin. On rainy days, tastings will be moved inside our spacious Tasting Room with ample room for physical distancing and the same great view.
Our summer patio restaurant, led by Chef Brady Bertrand, centres around a wood-fired pizza oven and features ingredients sourced directly from the Lightfoot family farm and gardens. Please note that seating is outdoors on our open-air patio or under our sailcloth Marquee Tent. To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all, we’ve reduced our seating capacity for summer 2020 to allow ample room for physical distancing. Reservations are strongly recommended and secure you a space under the marquee tent in the case of inclement weather.
On weekdays, we offer wine by-the-glass service in the lounge area of the Marquee Tent in line with restaurant hours, and from the Tasting Room at times when the restaurant is closed. On weekends, we offer an open-air satellite bar with outdoor seating, weather depending.

- What safety measures have you put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
At Lightfoot & Wolfville, the safety and comfort of our guests, staff and community is always our top priority. We have implemented several new safety procedures and policies such as, but not limited to: enhanced sanitation and hygiene practices, with access to hand sanitizer and hand washing stations throughout the facility and the addition of a full-time Custodian to carry out the required additional cleaning. We've also added a new full-time Concierge role, to implement guest screening, contact tracing and to aid in the safe movement of guests to their destination within the facility. We've moved to an appointment based tasting model, hosting our tastings outdoors in the open air when the weather allows. We've installed several plexiglass barriers in close contact areas and have reduced capacity throughout the facility, adding physical distancing markers and signage as needed. Our staff are wearing masks while indoors and whenever six feet of physical distancing cannot be maintained, and have received robust safety training regarding sanitation, physical distancing and understanding the symptoms of COVID-19 symptoms.
- Do winery guests need to wear masks?
Please note that effective Friday, July 31st, following Nova Scotia government regulations, guests will be required to wear non-medical masks when visiting the winery. We ask that you please wear your mask upon entering the building, when visiting the Wine Shop and washrooms. Once you are seated at your table, or at your designated tasting area, you may remove your mask to enjoy your food and drinks. Our staff will also be wearing masks while indoors or whenever six feet of physical distancing cannot be maintained.
- Are children allowed to visit the winery?
Yes! Lightfoot & Wolfville is family friendly
- Are you dog / pet-friendly?
According to Nova Scotia Health Regulation, dogs are not permitted within food licensed areas. This means that we are not permitted to welcome guests with dogs inside our facility or on our patio areas. Guests are welcome to walk their dogs on leash in the grassed vineyard areas, away from the serviced areas, but please note that we are not able to serve wine or food to guests with dogs in any area.
- Do I need a reservation for the restaurant?
If you plan to dine with us we strongly encourage you to make a reservation. While we always keep some space open for walk-ins, we often reach capacity, especially on the weekends. For summer 2020 we have reduced our capacity due to COVID-19 to ensure we exceed the physical distancing protocols. A reservation guarantees you a table under our covered Marquee Tent in the case of inclement weather.
- Do I need to pre-book my tasting experience??
Please note that we have moved to an appointment based tasting model and strongly recommend pre-booking your tasting experience online or by phone at (902) 542-7774. We are also happy to book you in for a tasting at the winery, but please keep in mind that walk-in availability may be limited. We ask that all groups arrive 10 minutes prior to their reservation to allow time to allow our Concierge team to welcome you.
- What is your Tasting Cancellation Policy?
In the event that you are looking to make a change to an existing tasting reservation or to cancel, please contact us directly at (902) 542-7774 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Tasting reservations can be modified or fully refunded up to 24 hours in advance. Within 24 hours of the booking, a 50% refund will be issued.
- Do you accept large group bookings in the restaurant?
The current Nova Scotia Public Health guidelines for COVID-19 prevention allow a maximum of 10 guests to be seated at one table. If your party exceeds 10 guests, please contact us directly to discuss your options. Depending on your group's size, we may be able to split you over two reservations, but all members must be willing to follow the current regulations. Once seated, guests must stay seated at their table unless getting up to use the washroom. There can be no mingling between tables or changing seats with another table. We, as the establishment, must ensure all guests adhere to these strict rules. We ask that the organizer share in the responsibility to ensure their group follows this direction.
