2018 Terroir Series Scheurebe

Relatively obscure in North America, with less than 10-acres planted in all of Canada, Scheurebe is a German vinifera grape variety and relative of Riesling that is characterized by an exuberantly aromatic and tropical profile. Nova Scotia’s ultra cool-climate provides freshness and energy, melding with the inherent aromatic intensity of the Scheurebe grape to create a truly unique wine. This is a single-vineyard expression from our Oak Island Vineyard site in Avonport, made from certified organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Demeter) grapes. The late spring frost of the 2018 vintage meant crop levels were lower than average, enhancing fruit concentration and ultimately quality.

Pale gold in the glass with light green flecks. Honeyed peaches, passionfruit and ginger on the nose. Light-bodied and off-dry with the lush tropical fruit carrying over to the palate, suspended in perfect balance by a savory-mineral edge and an electric grapefruit finish.
